Summary : Slow on Skype
I like how there is a button to launch 3 different programs on the webcam.
However, this webcam does not mount well on LCD monitors. I had to fiddle with it for three minutes just to set it on the monitor.
The software that comes with this product is pretty well, it lets me edit a lot of stuff.
Auto-focus is also good, no problems.
Working without issues with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

Summary : Get the new drivers, free. WINDOWS 7 updated driver.
I read several reviews before ordering this web cam. Decided that I would try it due to HP offering drivers update disc for free. Just Goggled the camera model # and hit the site right away. Disc arrived before the camera. Installed the camera and new drivers and it works GREAT. I had an echo in my HP mic but the mic built in to the camera solved the problem. People I talk to on video phones say it has great image quality. The software that comes with it have lots of features. The camera can track your face, zoom in and has good light range for bright and low light. I would buy it again. Can't beat the Amazon price. Get it!

Summary : Autofocus is not a good caracteristic
The Autofocus is horrible. The camera always looses focus and has to refocus. I wish I had bought a manual focus camera. I wouldn't buy any autofocus webcam. Chatting with this and my macbook pro i prefer the macbook pro's webcam. Quality and focus related.
The built in microphone of this webcam is horrible. I had to buy an headset to be able to have a decent call.
It does not function in HD through Skype.

Summary : Pretty Good Device
The video camera works as advertised. The only complaint I have, and it is significant, is the software. It loads you up with all sorts of things. I had to delete some sort of "Button Manager" program, or a little window would keep popping up, uncontrollably. Not perfect, but if you know what you're doing with a computer and installing/deleting programs, it's worth the money.

Summary : Surprised ... this works for my Mac and PC!
I needed a webcam to use on a Mac Mini and a PC with Skype. Did a bit of reading and decided that this HP cam might fit the bill. Came on Amazon and read the conflicting reviews - however more reviewers said it was a decent cam with little effort on the Mac platform. Took the plunge and purchased a used cam with no frills. Installed on my Mac mini and it worked 'instantly' in all video apps. No tweaking. No software required. GREAT audio capture as well -solves the 'problem' of not having amplified microphone input on the Mac mini... Kinda grainy video, but not outside the norm for the average webcam (adjust your local lighting for best effect - read: purchase a darn desk lamp!) Good adjustability. Buttons on top do not work on Mac - but you really don't need them...
Works fine on PC with all features active. Software could be more refined - but does the job.
Device fits HP monitors such as L2035, L2335 with a deeper bezel. Very stable. But I could see how a thinner bezel might offer a slightly shakier fit.
