Date : 2010-03-08 (4) Summary : Works out the box The camera is easy to use, simply plug it in and it works. The camera was used with Ubuntu. The problem with this camera is that it is made for desktops, not laptops and so you have to find somewhere to place the camera. I also did not realize that the laptop we were using it with did not have a built in microphone so we ended up purchasing another camera with a microphone.
Date : 2010-03-03 (5) Summary : pretty good for this price Definitely worth that much money! I use it for about one month now, everything is good.
Date : 2010-03-03 (4) Summary : Excellent for simple usage If all you care about is just for the other party to see your face and listen to you voice, this is it. Good low price, so simple-a-caveman-can-do-it installation and portable.
Drawback would be the shrieking noise that the thing makes when you use the voice chat. No idea how that came about.
Date : 2010-02-17 (5) Summary : Would buy again Cheap works well and if ya break it or have an animal eat through the cord ya didn't waiste a bunch of money.
Date : 2010-02-09 (3) Summary : Fast and Cheap This web cam is cheaply made and it shows! Exactly what I was looking for. Runs on Linux 2.6.32 as plug and play v4l2 device at 640x480. The lens is terrible quality and the focus ring was broken. That might have bothered another user but since my goal was to disassemble this device it didn't bother me. The casing is very easy to disassemble. Under the hood there is a tiny sensor chip, a cheap lens and a shoddily built PCB with gross solider points.
